What belongs in our pharmacy directory?

Policy updated 7 September 2026 · Register snapshot 30 Jun 2026

Who we include

Community pharmacies, independent businesses, national chains and online dispensing pharmacies can all be useful to patients. An unclaimed profile, missing website, lack of reviews or absence of published prices is not a reason to remove a legitimate pharmacy. Different branches of the same chain are separate locations.

Who we exclude or review

Confirmed internal dispensing centres, wholesale-only premises, duplicate records and businesses that do not provide patient pharmacy services do not belong in the patient directory. A confirmed closure or loss of registration also requires a listing review. We preserve the source record and record the reason for a change. We do not remove a business just because its name contains “hospital” or “hub”: some serve outpatients or provide NHS delivery.

Our current coverage

Great Britain community and internet pharmacies from the GPhC public premises register. Northern Ireland-registered community pharmacies (PSNI) are not yet listed — NI location pages show GPhC-registered online/distance-selling pharmacies that deliver to NI. The snapshot is dated 30 Jun 2026; it is not a live closure, registration or stock feed. Check the GPhC register in Great Britain and the PSNI register in Northern Ireland.

A registration number is not a service guarantee

We do not use the premises register to infer an NHS contract, Pharmacy First participation, vaccination availability, wheelchair access, founding year or branch prices. Legacy imported assumptions are suppressed in the published directory. Branch services need a pharmacy or NHS source; until then we show that the information is not verified. Service filters can therefore miss pharmacies whose services are not yet documented.

Opening hours appear where a source is recorded. “Open late” and “Open Sunday” describe those published hours, not live opening status or bank-holiday availability. Distances are approximate and use postcode-area centres, not the pharmacy entrance. Online-only pharmacies are excluded from nearest walk-in results.

Claims, payments and ordering

A “Claimed” badge requires a recorded owner claim. A website address, subscription or referral arrangement is not proof of a claim. Paid placements are labelled. The directory mixes brands and uses available information to order results; payment does not establish a clinical quality rating. Missing reviews do not become a zero score.

Help us correct a listing

Send the profile URL, the correction and a link to the pharmacy, NHS or regulator source through our contact page. Please do not include prescription details, diagnoses or other personal medical information. Pharmacy owners can claim their listing. Material changes are recorded in our corrections log.
