Most community pharmacies offer flu vaccinations every autumn and winter. If you're in an NHS-eligible group — including anyone 65 or over, pregnant women, and people with certain long-term health conditions — the jab is free through the NHS flu vaccination programme. If you don't qualify, most pharmacies offer a private flu jab, typically priced between £12 and £25 depending on the pharmacy and vaccine type. Booking ahead is recommended in peak season (September to November), though many pharmacies also offer walk-in appointments.

Free NHS flu vaccination is for defined groups — including many people aged 65+, pregnant women, and people with listed long-term conditions — at participating pharmacies. Eligibility is set nationally and changes by season.
If you qualify, the NHS flu programme is free at pharmacies that hold the contract. You should not be charged an NHS item fee for that vaccine. The pharmacist checks eligibility; bring proof if they ask (for example pregnancy or a condition).
If you are not eligible, most community pharmacies still offer a private flu jab. That is a different product pathway and a different price. This directory does not confirm that every listed pharmacy has stock today.
Private pharmacy flu jabs in the UK typically cost £12–£25. Some sites charge more for a higher-dose vaccine aimed at older adults.

NHS and private appointments can run from the same counter. Ask which queue you are in so you are not billed for a free NHS jab — or turned away from a private slot you expected to pay for.
September to November is the usual window for winter protection, but a later jab is still useful if you missed the peak.
Pharmacies run out of particular brands at peak times. Calling ahead beats a wasted trip. Flu vaccination does not treat influenza you already have, and it is not COVID vaccination.
