# New Medicine Service

Free NHS support from your pharmacist when you start a new medicine for certain long-term conditions, to help you use it correctly and stick with it.

The New Medicine Service (NMS) is a free NHS pharmacy service for people newly prescribed a medicine for specific long-term conditions, including asthma, COPD, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and those starting certain blood-thinning medicines. Your pharmacist checks in with you shortly after you start the medicine, and again a couple of weeks later, to answer questions, address side effects, and support you in taking it correctly — improving the chances the treatment works as intended.

We may receive a fee when you send a private-service enquiry.Private service prices are indicative — always confirm directly with the pharmacy.
