# Blood Pressure Checks

Free NHS blood pressure checks at participating pharmacies for anyone aged 40 or over — no appointment needed. Compare pharmacies offering checks.

The NHS Community Pharmacy Blood Pressure Check Service offers a free blood pressure reading to anyone aged 40 or over who hasn't been diagnosed with high blood pressure, without needing a GP appointment. Many pharmacies also offer walk-in checks for anyone, regardless of age, either free or for a small fee. If your reading is high, the pharmacist can refer you back to your GP or, in some cases, fit you with a home blood-pressure monitor for a follow-up check (ambulatory blood pressure monitoring).
